Description
There are over 300 described species of Long Legged Flys. Not much is known about them other then their larvae are predacious and live in the soil and undergrowth.

This is excellent, I love the iridescent colors and the wealth of subtle details in this. I especially love the way you've captured the details on the abdomen, and the structure of the wings...more like a whisper than anything else. This is utterly fantastic work.

We have a lot of these type of flies in our back yard and they are extremely difficult to shoot because they will NOT be still. Your shot turned out great!

Your right about these insects not standing still for long. Thank God for digital! I'm sure I would have had to sell my house to pay for bad images if I was still shooting film.
