Description

This is pretty much an experiment, as I only recently discovered that the software that came with my camera can stitch together photos. I am not certain how good this will look on some monitors, but I wanted to add it to my gallery nonetheless. The river is the Main (pronounced like the English word "mine"), and the shots were taken from the bridge visible near the center of this image: thumb_1557702.jpg
All comments are welcome, so fire away. :-) Addendum after the comment by jonarves: I was quite surprised myself that it turned out so well. I am hardly an expert, but I think the key to stitching together photos by software alone may be taking a lot of shots in rapid succession, with only a little deviation between individual shots. The shots that went into this composite were taken within 30 or 40 seconds, so the clouds had hardly a chance to move. Spending some time on selecting which photos to stitch together may be an important factor too. Oh, and using a tripod is a must IMO. I tried something like this freehand and the result was so far from stellar that I would call it a complete disaster. :-D

Impressing stitch work. Stitching together things that move is hard. (Rivers, clouds, traffic..). I never thought automated software could make such good results. Nice picture and motive by the way.

I can see a horizontal line and a not quite vertical transition, but it's great!
