Description

After months of carving with hammer and chisel, I finally finished. OK, what I did was, stack light and dark cubes and group them as positive. Then I made a terrain raised to white with a black border to get a cube shape. Carved into it with various graytones and made it "solid" and negative. Fit it over the laminated blocks of wood and grouped them. The shape of the terrain carved away everything it covered and left the rest. Cool. Experimented by twisting and turning everything. Ended up with this. Two different sets of boolean terrain and blocks, one on top of the other.

Fantastic. I'm not sure if I completely understood what you actually did to achieve it, though. Grin.

Booleans are a beautiful thing, fantastic sculpture...full marks for creativity. I would like to see this rendered with soft shadows though...I feel it would really enhance the lines.. ...
