Description
I'd rather not comment on the state of my country at this moment. Let's just say I'm not very optimistic.
Clockwise
The Hilton Hotel in Antwerp (Paris never comes there - Lucky!); The statue of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck, guild leaders who led a Flemish army of craftsmen (workers) to victory over the French army in 1302, in Bruges; the statue of Long Tall Wapper, a folk hero (or, rather, rogue) in Antwerp; Big Mathilda, just a statue (but oh, what a gal!) in Ostende.

I really wish I knew more - understood more - about other countries' politics. I enjoy ours so much. I don't have a good grasp of geography and other political structures are difficult for me to grasp as well so I am in the dark about how other countries are operating. I hope things are not that dismal there. Things are always in an uproar around here but for all our ups and downs we keep going and in spite of all the stories published about unrest and disention, the bottom line is that we really are a united people. One sinks, we all sink. :-) I love these shots. I especially love good ol' Mathilda. She's very Rueben-esk. Much like me... LOL
