the night is raining
quietly
further away
Â
I'm standing
in front of my window
naked
nothing to hide
Â
I feel some raindrops
burning my eyes
my cheeks
my chin
Â
somewhere
there's a light
people are surviving
Â
somewhere
far away
Â
maybe
Â
it's you

Just got home, signed on, and found this sitting here, whispering loudly enough with your resonating words, that it didn't require any noise at all before I noticed its existence. (huh? okay, long day...it made sense in my head anyway) :) Such wonderful insights from you on your experiences and where they've led your thoughts (as experiences, good, bad, or otherwise, tend to bring). I am grateful to you for sharing them so openly. And this made me giggle aloud by myself...over some inherent absurdities that you've touched upon, and that I never once before considered (I blame my rather twisted sense of humor). As always, such beautiful writing...with impact that is resonant. And, the photo is wonderful, of course! Her use of light and its bathing of your face is beautiful :)

I have watched the phenomenon from the other side more times than I want to remember. Thank you for this perspective - my heart grins back, remembering those drugged-to-the-gills times. :)
