Description
This was a photo that actually had little postwork done to it. This was used for a black and white newspaper ad for a local square dancing club. The club's name is "Puddletown Squares".
To take the organization's name as a literal element, I decided to photograph an actual cowboy boot hitting a puddle of water. To my surprise it worked rather well. I used a large white photographer's tray filled with water and bounced light off of a large white posterboard above it as fill light to keep extraneous reflection from showing in the water. It kept the image simple and clean for text placement.
