Description
An example to show that you should not believe everything that you see....
This is a composite photo.
The image of the barn was taken July 13th, 2007...unfortunately, with a relatively uninteresting sky.
I thought it could use some spicing up so, I merged in a sky shot that I took August 26th, 2006.
By the way, it helps to keep a catalogue of interesting sky photos for exactly this purpose.

Funny, I was just thinking today I have on old rapeseed photo that would look good with a new sky, and then I see this. Not sure my technique will get me as good a result as this though. Stunning photo.

Know what you mean by adding skies to a plain image. I had a nice photo of Stone Henge and being a typical English morning the sky was drab but the picture was transformed by adding a wind swept sky to the scene - its now hanging on the wall!! Good tip chickadee.
