Description

I imagine you have understood that I have horror of all that they is pretentious. But I do not have another title for this photograph. More, it is my favorite photo among thousands of others. It´s nothing hid there, it is not a scoop. It is nobody important, even not the reincarnation recognized of anyone. The photo is exactly what it look likes to be: a small monk, eight year old, perfectly anonime, which does not speak only one word in English, meet by chance (? : -) in the Shwedagon temple. Why this photo is so important for me and especially I give him a title not in my style at all? I could write a book to explain it, tell my life, my travels, the people I meet, the mystery of people and life. Maybe I will write it one day. Or a beautiful chapître in the future book on Burma. Why the intelectuelle just arrived from Paris, speakings many languages, which read all, see all, considering, crosses the glance a eight year old boy in a temple with the other end of the Earth and becomes immediately fascinated? To discover that it is reciprocal? Why two human beings that all separates, age, culture, social condition feel so close, if interdependent, if attracted one towards the other? I doot have any supernatural explanation, the stories of reincarnation did not even pass me by the head. For me theis is even more marvellous and mysterious: the Magic of the life. Uncertainty, the unexplainable one. We spend half day to walk together to the temple and even for the simpler things, how ask his name or his age, people help me as interpreter between us. I said to the person that was with me "Now I understand why Alexandra David-Neel (the exploring one) adopted a monk! " A look in two sides “Are you sure that it was Alexandra who adopted the monk, not the reverse? " :- ) I have several photographs of him but it is this one, the first look , which I like more. There is a image simple at maximum, and I dont have nothing of minimalist. I know his name, his address at the first time and I am a journalist of investigation. Several times I looked at these words written in a small book and I wondered whether I were going to seek it or not. I decided don’t got, contrary to my practices and my natural tendence. It was a decision matured with the length of the years and visits. It was a learning too. Maybe is part of the sense of the life. The magic things cant repeat. Certain things are unique...

My mother in law's maiden name was Abbott. In todays world it is a drug company. Once it was a young boy running an abbey.
