Description

This is me, Mrs. sputter and Mrs. sputter's mother on the morning of June 12, 2006 at the beginning of the Alaska Highway. As you can see, it was an absolutely picture perfect day for traveling. This is in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. The building in the background was once a grain elevator, but has been remodeled and is now a very nice visitor center and art gallery. I was very surprised to learn how many artists work in the northwestern part of the continent, but the scenery and wildlife are very inspiring, and it makes perfect sense. The flag on the right of the sign is that of the city of Dawson Creek. It is a central panel of gold with an image of the Alaska Highway Mile 0 marker and two sky blue outer panels.
