Description

This is an old 35mm photo I scanned in. I found this little treasure at the rear of our local golf course in Springfield Park. It is a very old turnstile, I don't know how it survived as long as it did. I went back to the location about twelve months after taking the photo, to try and get a better one on my new digital camera. Alas the gate had gone, all that remained was a rusty stump in the ground. Some mindless vandal must have come across it whilst searching for lost golf balls. I still have this as a reminder though. I know this is not a very good image but it is too good to throw. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.

I like this. It's so quintessentially British to have a turnstile out in a field somewhere. (You know we don't have things like that over here!) An evocative shot, my friend!

Super love old stuff like this, again going back to your comment how did this not get used in the war? It looks older than the last war.

Its a great shame its now gone, your words add sentiment to this old rusty turnstile. Perhaps the vandals should join RR and get a buzz from taking a photo of it, maybe would learn to apreciate the beauty of things. (sometimes I live in dreamland lol) Thanks for digging this picture out and sharing.

Wonderful. It’s a shame that it’s gone now. But the whole world is changing every day, if you like it or not. And most of the time I don’t. There is a lovely mood in this picture, nostalgia maybe?
