It looks like a hydrogen alpha photograph...great work. There are numerous directions to go with this, but I think that it all just depends on where your whimsy takes you. For me, it is a great stand alone piece, though the implied texture and the color (with a bit of tweaking) could also work as a planetary surface...but again, that's all a matter of where your whimsy goes. I'd rather comment on the piece itself though, than offer suggestions that may ultimately not work, so having said that...great work. I am curious though...what would be added (or diminished?) if you added a few solar promenances and flares? Just curiosity on my part though.

This is a very good likeness actually. Maybe you could use a reddish/orange TG atmosphere to simulate the suns corona which extends out very far.
