Description

Well, after many, many hours of navigating my way through the manual, here is my first ever (serious) Vue image! Having come from a background of Bryce v6.1, Vue has taken me some time to learn, hopefully to a reasonable standard (Ill let you be the judge of that!). Despite the crashes and occasional other frustrations, I am extremely impressed with Vue. But, I hope you view this work, not just as an output of Vue, but as an artwork in its own right. A common theme of my work has been to construct unusual places, at once strange and unfamiliar, yet hopefully they instil a sense of peace, wonder and curiosity in you, the viewer. They are places I would love to explore and discover their purpose. I almost never plan what I create I just allow the scene to create itself and this image was no exception. With the exception of the reeds (from the Realms Art Pond and Water Plants Pack) and some small bushes from the Realms Art Forest Pack,), all the materials are the standard Vue ones. Modelled and constructed by myself in Vue 6 Infinite - no postwork. I Hope you like it and I always appreciate any comments, particularly as this is my first Vue effort! Looking forward to checking out the Vue gallery as well as the Bryce one (bit behind in my comments!) Note: uploaded a slightly different version on 30/11/07 in response to some great feedback from deci6el re. the placement of the lanterns interfering with the depth perception. I also took the opportunity to thin out and tidy up the reeds along the riverbank as they weren't following the shoreline very well. Minor changes, but effective ones I think. :-)
