Description

A cumulonimbus incus is a mature thunderstorm. The 'incus' is the anvil shape of the cloud as the water vapor rises and reaches a ceiling of cold air. Depending on the strength of the updraft the cloud may reach over 60,000 feet in some situations, usually in tornado alley (the midwest). This one is probably 30-40000 feet.

Nice, Tim! (both the piece and the description). I've always loved cloudscapes.
