Hi Folks,
This image is dedicated to my mate Dave (magnus073).
My first cave image!! I have wanted to do a SciFi cave type image for ages, and have tried a few times with no success. Well, this weekend I tried again and finally I managed it!
I setup the girl and the futuristic boat in Poser. The girl is A3 with the Blissany by Mariny morph and textures. The hair is Melite Hair (plus3d, mairyr7). The outfit is an old favourite.. TailGunner. I re-textured the outfit, hair and boat model and then imported into Vue.
The cave is made up of terrains, some upside down, on their side, etc to create the cave. I tried a few textures for the cave but they were all too this world and I was after other-world. I finally modified a marble texture to achieve the effect I was after.
The most difficult part was the lighting, it uses 4 point lights, AO and sunlight, each point with their own individual settings and influences.
Finally the whole scene, cave, girl and boat were rendered which took 12 hours (gulp)!
Anyway,that was just a brief description of the process and I hope you enjoy ;)

you did a wonderful job with this...the cave is quite impressive--sort of reminds me of the Blue Grotto on Capri--boy, 12 hours to render--my puter would have exploded by then, LOL...exceptional work!

Great scene and I like the colour scheme here. I appreciate the difficulty lighting presented here, though with respect I think you may have missed the mark a bit. In my opinion the lighting here almost makes it look like there's 2 images layered on top of each other (one of the cave in blues and one of the girl on the boat in reds). I think a more consistent lighting scheme across the entire scene would have served you better. While the colours and lighting look great in their own areas, when you put them together they look a little too far apart lighting wise, and that detracts from the image in my opinion.

I'll get lost in the caves with her anyday mate. I think you have done a fantastic job Stevey and well worth the 12 hour wait for it to render, you have certainly achieved off world texture in the cave walls(she's one sexy miss). The blue slate colour of the walls and the lighting is spot on(did I tell you she's sexy). The boat colour fits in perfectly and the lighting for that and her(she's sexy)body are again spot on. Overall fantastic job! Bravo!!!!! 5+5+

A cool image which I recommend is viewed at full size to appreciate the detail. The effect on the marble wall works well and I love the contrast between the red and blue sections of your image. Great lighting, especially on the water. Nicely done!
