Hi, my name is Kim. My husband, Frank (ddaydreams) and I live in the Eastern Sierras, California, USA. We started out working with graphic programs like CoralDraw and Bryce. Mostly with digital artwork. I enjoyed making fractals and incorporating them with other programs, then I started adding artwork to some old photos I had. I use to be more into photography years ago, but never had the money (or time) to pursue it for more then a casual hobby. When the digital cameras became a little more affordable and we saw the ease of use and the things we could accomplish with our graphics programs...... well there you have it! One day Frank said "you ought to post one of your pictures at Renderosity" and the rest is history! Now we have artwork and photos in local galleries, a couple calendars out there, and we are even thinking about publishing a book!
And I have to give most of the credit to all the wonderful friends I have met right here on Renderosity!!!! Everyone has been so helpful and encouraging!!!
Thank you for viewing my gallery and check back often to see what progress we are making.

How awesome! It resembles an oak leaf! Great find! Better shot!

Outstanding graphical quality!
carrotsoup
It looks like a mapleleaf to me. I like the black and white.

Very nice image. The b&w is very good. Maybe it would also be interesting to work with a selective coloring (parts of the image stay b&w, other parts show the orginal color).

Great contrast between the fluid/chaotic nature of the stump and the straight level destruction we perform upon it.

Beautiful!

I see the same thing carrotsoup does -- the top has a wonderful leaf-like shape... The textures look great in B/W. Beautiful work!

I do find the shape of that stump intriguing. I'm assuming it was a redwood tree? Excellent idea for the B & W. :o)

Great tonal range really makes what could seem mundane into a work of art. This shot works well because there is detail even in the brightest areas and also in a lot of the dark. Also the very sharp and clean break between the smooth top and the roughened edges leaves no doubt as to the change that occured and to a long life lost.
