Description

I wanted to post another B&W, but I like to mix it up a bit. So I thought I would post another Miner's cabin. This one is only about 5 miles from my house and I stumbled upon it by accident one day. I usually go up the main canyon where several cabins are (see Fall Light 2007, Looking Through it All, Shadow House, and Where's Waldo), but for some reason I decided to travel along another road that ran along the foothill. I actually thought someone might be living in this when I first saw it, but it wasn't until I got around to the right side of it where I could see it had caved in. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my last post "Stump"! Have a great week!!!

Such a marvelous find and even more marvelous capture. The colors are as rich as the image itself. Excellent postwork.

You found a real treasure and depict it beautifully. The large stones and overgrown weeds surrounding the cabin protect this shelter while also suggesting of its great age. The worn wood reminds that this cabin has a mysterious but no doubt full past. The inhabitants are no longer around to relay its history but your capture leaves my imagination fascinated. Outstanding image. Thank you for presenting this wonderful treat.

What a wonderful find, Kim, and an excellent presentation. I'm amazed that there is still so much color in the wood.

Greetings, I am glad you had stumbled upon this miners cabin as I find it not only a treasure but a place where one can retreat to if it is abandoned and connect with the past of just find ones center. The look of the wood against the large granite rocks is really special and reflects a real hard life. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing. egmont
