When last we spoke, you mentioned your love of the dark places…the cave bars, and the soul-places…
…where we could speak over wine, beer, or other soul-warming elixirs, and I remember your words. Of course I will see you again. I practice your language whenever I get the chance. I make toasts every time I raise my glass, and always, I feel a stirring in my blood as I whisper: "Для вас, мой красивейший друг."
I’m never alone when I have vodka or beer and my thoughts. You know what they are, and I know that you’ll return, and we’ll share all that we have not yet spoken of aloud. Though I am a man devoid of the extravagance of religion, I know faith, each time I make a toast. You taught me how, and so now, I raise my glass, aware of two empty stools--the ones upon which we sat for hours, talking as the night blossomed, aged, and died around us.

Sometimes, werid stuff just bubbles out of my head, snippets and rakish pieces of things that have no relation to anything else that I'm thinking of at the moment. It happened with the image above...one of the innumerable shot's I've taken in U Sudu, my favorite bar in Prague. It's a cavernous place, nestled within a cellar that's over 500 years old. It's odd that every time I got there, the same two stools are always empty, at least for a time. It's always a bit eerie to see, but perhaps it's a matter of coincidence.

Ops. This went right into my heart. I happen to do the similar thing. Babbling things that have nothing to do with 'reality' at the very moment. Spinning my yarn about what's only in my head. Writing sentences that are not intended to be written. Ops. As always it's very hard to decide what touches mind and soul more - photo or your elaborate words which I can not really give credit because they come in a foreign language I hardly know enough. Let me just say this, there is no such thing as coincidence in contexts other than mundane. The chairs are waiting for you and someone you have not yet met. Chip, you're one amazing man...your words have a way of touching a person's heart...at least they do mine....here we are miles and miles apart yet you can reach across the miles and touch not only I but so many others with mere words.......what a gift you have been given. The image is superb, I love the light and dark mixtures, a mood cather for sure and a fav!
