Description

Though I've got zillions of Prague pictures that I've just taken, I wanted to do something with a bit more color and meteorological warmth. The result is a picture that I took last summer in Cesky Krumlov. I'd gone there twice and this image is from my second trip, with friends from England...Tom and Pete, who have figured in two other posts I've placed here. We'd spent weeks in Krumlov, just...well...doing nothing...and that seems to be the way of things among visitors to that town. People go there and don't leave; there's actually a documentary about expatriates who have gone there and have not yet left. Prague has a pronounced, magnetic pull...and Cesky Krumlov is the same way, tough far more subtle. It isn't uncommon to go there and find English speakers who will tell you..."Oh, I arrived here on vacation Tuesday...6 years ago, and I'm NOT leaving." It's that kind of a place, and it's also a dream of mine to actually LIVE there, though I'd have to commute to Prague just to visit friends HERE as well. As always, thank you for viewing and commenting, and I hope that this image brings as much brightness to you as I've tried to capture.

Looks (and reads) like a great summer and I can understand a tiny bit of the magic of Cezky Krumlow you describe. I think I won't go there though... much too dangerous... ;-)

I used to have the special (polish and swiss on rye) with a pickled egg and pretzels at Joe Jost' for lunch is Long Beach. Folks came in from the oil fields both workers and chiefs. In Florida, in the early 80's the shuttles to the main plant were driven by Czech exiles.
