Description

This one is a for-hire picture...that is to say that the customer had very specific ideas about what she wanted in the picture. It was designed to be put on one of my ceramic 8 x 10 tiles. Going into the project, I wasn't sure about how I felt about it, nor was I sure that I liked the direction in which I was being asked to go. After the faerie was finished, I worked with two different backgrounds before settling on this one. As I was doing the postwork, it started to come to a point where I warmed up to the work, and ultimately, I am not at all displeased with how it turned out. And really, there is something very satisfying about having someone trust me with his or her idea, particularly when my execution of the idea is going to end up wrapped in shiny paper and ribbons, and be awaiting some youngster under the tree on Christmas morning. I don't know if I could be given a bigger honor.
