I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

Real feeling of nothingness. Man wants to find an anchor. But the isn't one!! Really provoker feelins of powerless and empty beauty!

This looks eyecatching to me, but I haven't learnt the rules yet.

I don't know about the rules, but I know I like this shot. Cool picture! Todd

Well, I never studied art and photography so I don't know many " rules" to take perfect shots or judge them...but...actualy this white nothingness of the foreground leads my eye to the trees far back on a scene. Not to mention a fantastic cloud. Unusual colors, yes, but I LOVE it.

Interesting perspective and colors. Perfect "nothing". My king of place. Great shot.

I can see why you like it, personally it's a very appealing shot, love the vast area of nothing with the trees and beautiful skyline in the background

I think it's great Kai. But doesn't fit with your title. I think had you shot out to sea and excluded the trees and embankment it would've really given that title meaning.

I sure do find it likeable. :)

It's better than likable - it's actually pretty compelling! Wonderful work.

Wonderful shot! Great colors and compo, for a sparse scene. Love the title, goes very well with this edge-of-the-world feel I get from this pic. :) Richard

Rules are made for breaking and I think this looks great as it shows vastness which if you had obeyed the rules wouldn't have been nearly so effective. Excellent capture with great colour.

Nice post-work or filtration or whatever you did to it.

I think it has lots of interest in it.. the line of trees leading to the rainstorm.. the shadings and shapes of the clouds.. very nice shot :)

Your light and colours is superb. Great shot my friend

I think the fact that it doesn't conform to any rules is exactly what makes this interesting. Beautiful colors and perfect compo, Kai. It has such a wonderful atmosphere....and that sky...wow. That must have been one awesome sight. Always great to see your work. Have a wonderful weekend, sweetie. -M :^)
