Description

This is the second of my series about Senegal horse-powered vehicles. Thanks for people who have visited and commented the first one, taken at Saint-Louis-du-Senegal: Cars of 2007, Senegal, 1, for Mousson

If you have not seen this one, go to the link above to get detailed explanations, that I will not reproduce here. This shot, taken near the Djoudj park, Northern Senegal, verifies the widespread use of animals for transportation in this country which does not produces petrol. Better dust conditions allowed me to do nearly no postwork in this one and nevertheless enjoy a very sharp image. I had just the time to jump out of the Peugeot 309 of our friend; my reflex being ready and out of its case, I released instantly the shutter. Techdata: Nikon D70 first model with Nikkor 3.5-4.5/18-70 Pro ED at 70mm, 1/200s at f/7.1, aperture-priority automatic, auto white balance, ISO 200 manual setting.

Fortunate World traveller. Wonder how long would it take if you had to travel like that? I'll bet he has a great 8 track in the back of the horse. (LOL) Great series of meaningful images.
