Description

Upload: 034 V Title: Rising Sun Series: South Market Street Project Location: San Francisco, California Date: November 14, 2007 Image: N07661M1c Camera: Nikon D70, Full Frame Commentary: From time to time, we as artists must withdraw and this is what I have done, along with settling an important question, one with which I have been wrestling with for almost 46 years and now finally have an answer. Another reason for my absence has to do with the loss of my trusted hand held multifunction light meter, since it just as important in my photography as the camera. I do not know when I will be able to replace the unit, in the meantime I will try to do without it.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and commenting. Vielen danke das sie die Zeit genommen haben meine Arbeit zu betrachten und darauf zu Kommentieren. Egmont

I wish I could say that the sun was rising here, but that was long ago. Nice to see you here again, and more nice to hear that you have got the answer of an old question. May the winter pass away in a hurry, I am tired of raining and blowing. Have a nice weekend Hugs - Gun Btw, I like your image, forgot to say that!

It is great to see your work again and you have re-emerged with a bang. This collage is beautifully composed with a super colour pallet and I love it. I find it very appropriate as I have just got up and the sun is just rising here in a clear blue sky. Excellent!!

Sorry to hear about your light meter Egmont. :( Still this is a wonderful image and with the title, all sorts of stories are conjured in the mind. What amazes me is this is found art. Some people strive to achieve this intentially and never do. Maybe that is the trick...

Good Day to you, dear Egmont, Firstly let me say what joy my heart feels to see a post from you, dear friend. I have missed your friendship and your art a great deal. It is a wonderful abstract, superbly presented, Egmont, I adore your title. I am sorry for the loss of you light meter, I know how much you need it. I am so happy you found an answer to an old question, I know that will please you. I am not online as much as I used to be, so I say sorry my dear, for late comment. Please, take good care of you. I am making homemade chicken soup!!! I always think of you when I make soup :-) Happy Hugs, dearest Egmont. Diane.

Apart from the wonderful combination of colors the composition is very nice. Appealing work, Egmont. Have a great week. About "13". You were dead right about revising. High contrast is the result of meddling with gradients and layers. Anyway, I tend a more graphical approach.

So much to note in this well composed abstract. The torn paper reminds me of the fact that beneath the rising of the sun today, there lies a yesterday and a tomorrow. The letters awaken a curiosity as to the rest of the hidden remainder of words, as there lies the temptation to figure out the rest of the text if in fact, there may be a hidden underlying message to interpret.... after all, a picture, especially one as such, is worth a thousand words. The colours are terrific; so vivid and real, yet torn apart by the stark white space left, that now remains exposed. A most inspiring image.

....love this photo - as it gives me the feeling it could have been created from scratch instead of found -- you have such a great eye for isolating these elements.....despite including the year --- it's appeal is timeless.
