Description

Freecloud (the name is inspired by an old Bowie song) is an airbourne community comprised of a group of floating platforms held up with huge helium balloons and giant lifting fans. Originally built as scientific laboratories for manned experiments working on the problem of greenhouse gas, these super-lightweight structures became a refuge. Folk too rich to stay in the hellish toxic climate (but not rich enough to escape to the orbital cities) live here, trading with surface dwellers and acting as a popular holiday destination. One of several sci fi novels which I'll probably never write starts on a platform like this. Some of thje models I've used before, some parts have been cannibalised from other models and some have been built especially for this scene. Built and rendered using trueSpace 7.51 This is probably not my best work but I'm calling it finished as I have several other projects in the pipeline.
