Description

the start of yet another new week and a little closer to xmas :o).. i posted a pic back in september i think of this minesweeper and today i thought i would give you a closer look .it came up river for a visit and ended up trapped after the barrage and princess diana bridge was put in .i liked the reflections this cast in the water in fact i managed to get some great reflections in most of the pics i took on this walk along the river.you can see a little of the back of the high street on the left of the pic and the pointed building on the right with the cross on the top is stockton`s tabernacle church..apart from being a church it also does cheap meals for the elderly a few times a week .my mum used to love going here for her dinner and meeting people for a good old fashioned natter (talk). thanks for looking and you continued support my friends have a great day and for those of us in the colder climes of the world keep warm :o) mick

You captured excellent reflection on a dull day, Mick. She looks comfortable in her berth. I agree with Sara a lovely way to remember your Mum, going for lunch and a natter at the tabernacle Church. Always lovely to have a good old chat. Happy day and Hugs. Di.

My dad was in the Royal Navy during the war(6 years in all) and spent time on mine sweepers in the North Sea for a time..I think he was based in Lowestoft..they were hit by a mine.. he was 1 of the lucky survivors.Interesting to see this pic.

This must have been the one I read about Mick, I knew it was something about a ship getting trapped between two bridges. I am full of bits of useless information but I cannot recall it in it's entirety any more, just bits. Excellent capture, I must come up there again and have a walk about, I promised my daughter a trip on the transporter bridge a few years back, is it still running? or is it just a museum piece now. You will have to let me know what day they do the cheap meals at the church so I can drop in for one. Great narrative on this one mate. Bravo!!!!!
