Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. This is the view I see of almost every Hairstreak Butterfly I have ever seen. They fold their wings as soon as they land and seldom open them while perched. It is very difficult to see the top side of the wings even when they fly because their movements are so quick and erratic, lol. I have posted other images of them but I am posting this one because tomorrow, I will be able to show you the seldom seen side of this one and thought the two views should go together. Thanks to those who take the tome to comment. Lee

Another weird but wonderful creature Lee, weird in the sense it seems to have an extra pair of legs sticking out at the back. I must look this one up and see what the text books say about it. I see at least another person on Render thinks like me(skyla824). Excellent Macro.

There is very nearly an intelligent look on his face. I wonder, since we know all bugs have natural, built in devices for protection, if this guy's defence is his educated face. :-)
