Description

"I get my best ideas in a thunderstorm. I have the power and majesty of nature on my side" ~ Ralph Steadman

At the risk of being redundant, here is the view that the photographer in my last gallery image was capturing with his camera. This is Lake Morikami, surrounded by the lovely Japanese gardens and surmounted by quite a dramatic cloudy sky. It would have been interesting to compare are two photos. I assume he was using color digital, but for all I know, he could have been taking it with black and white film or even infrared. Red and Blue channels were swapped in Photoshop and other minimal postwork (sharpening, levels). Please view full size if you have the time. The Morikami Gardens are ranked 8th among more than 300 Japanese Gardens outside Japan by the Journal of Japanese Gardening. For those of you who have been asking me about infrared photography, it has its own thread in the Photography Forum which you can reach by clicking HERE. -----

Thanks for your photo-graphic comments on my previous upload, thumb_1573482.jpg Do You See What I See? ----- Sony DSC-P200 (IR Converted) & PhotoshopCS. (1051) Morikami Gardens, Boca Raton, FL, USA Sponsored by: ott_bot1.gifKramer Kreations ohm.gif

Really nice. I love the contrast of the sky and the trees. It's like a fantasy. This type of manipulation is common, but here it works beautifully.

Greetings Kort, The photograph is sublime and yet just short of being perfect. The mini problem lies at the bottom left corner and can easily be cloned out. Thank you for sharing. egmont
