Description

Leaves caught on a branch of the tree they fell off. While I was working on this image I realized that I liked those leaves best about it. Not the river in the background, not the structure of the tree bark, but those simple leaves that seem so ubiquitous during autumn. But each one has its own history: it sailed down when it was its time, landed in its own place, and each one will end up somewhere different in the long run, add itself to a different part of nature. Once I had arrived at that thought I knew I had to bring out those leaves, and share this image with you. And when winter comes, think of the leaves that are just waiting there under the snow for their chance to turn into flowers and blossoming trees. Without autumn there wouldn't be a spring. :-)
