Description

Sorry for the delay in getting part 2 up as I tried to get my 400th image up, but now we're back to the USS Hornet shots. And as I mentioned, the first shot as shown below was in the Hornet's Combat Information Center (CIC)

Granted it's a pretty cool room to be in, but when we walked in, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it, I was pretty sure something wasn't quite right with the room. It was only after the docent adjusted the lighting that I realized what it was. So here's what it would look like more or less while it was in actual use. I think it's just such a cool shot. Would have been nicer if they kept some sort of markings on the glass like the ship was really in battle or something like that, but still. Really cool. Not sure it shows so well in the photo, but all the glass panels have room for somebody to stand behind so they could write on them with grease pencils. Trick is they have to teach you to write (and presumably read) backwards so you can do it. Apparently some people could even do it with both hands simultaneously which just blows my mind. Have a great Thursday and thanks for the look. :) John

That looks so cool! And I think it would blow my mind as well, to hear about the simultaneous handwriting.

Pretty intense! I would love to have a tripod and take a longer exposure of it. It looks a lot like a scifi bridge scene, but then thats what those shows are based on. Cool capture, did you have to bump it up a lot in post or was it all the ISO + Gain of the camera that allowed you to see it?
