A Dutch good friend introduced me to R'osity... and now, I really feel good in this community : I enjoy a lot your friendship and comments !BIOWith a few exceptions (indicated), I'm using a simple CANON Digital IXUS i... Sometimes, I do some postwork using ArcSoft PhotoStudio 5, but I just installed Adobe PhotoShop 7.0...
But now, after having seen all these beautiful shots, I just bought (Nov 2004) myself a new camera : NIKON 70 D !
I'm a chemist, leading a small R&D team in polymers (My greatest pleasure is to stimulate creativity...) I'm also studying to become a patent attorney...
I'm living in Belgium and enjoy travelling, hiking (going out every week-end is a vital must !), reading (my French preferred authors are Marc Ly, Jean-Christophe Grang Amie Nothomb,...), music (great fan of US female voices : Jennifer Warnes, Natalie Merchant, Sarah McLachlan, ...) and ... photography ! :~)
Bien cordialement aussi aux amis francophones !

Wonderful portrait shot.

Bizzzzzzzzzzz

My guess, since I've not seen these before but heard about them is that it is the Jawzah - a four-string, spike-fiddle with a sound box that is part of a coconut shell covered with skin, although this looks like one heck of a BIG coconut - I originally thought it was a thick-type of long-neck gourd. And, once again, this character portrait is really rich in emotion, personality and fabulous new lessons in another culture.

I can't imagine how they play the instruments you have shown. The sound in the busy streets must have been wonderful. Fine shot!

Great person pic!!

Bravo encore
