Description

Duleek is well known in history for being one of the staging grounds for the Battle of the Boyne. The townspeople were torn between William and James, with William of course being the ultimate victor. There is a legendary Lime tree still standing in the village which was planted by William himself. We had lunch at the Lime Tree Cafe, a very lovely little place where the locals meet. Beautiful! I, too, at first glance thought it might be computer generated. Very nice work!

I never stop too amaze me at what places can be found if you just look around. I like the image, but I can´t but help thinking that maby an even lower angle for the shot would improve it further since it might have covered the roof in the background. also I would try going back another day if possible to get another light on the whole scene, since to me the sky seem to have a little to much of yellow tones. anyway besides this minor objection I can´t but falling for the image, is semi-romantic and semi-fantasy two category´s that fit´s me. /Benny

Thanks so much to everyone who commented on this piece. Benny, as a matter of fact we will be returning to Ireland in September 2008 for three weeks, and will re-visit this site for sure. We love old, derelict and not so derelict graveyards. I will most certainly keep your suggestion in mind, as I would have loved to have missed that roof, LOL!

is this a Photo ???????????? YIKES..... superb !!! Willem III van Oranje. Stadhouder van Holland, Koning van Engeland an amazing figure ! Sadly he died young and his line of the family came to an abrubt hold.. One can only wonder what the Netherlands would be like if he had not fallen from his horse.. That story is all in this picture and I love it
