Description

We were coming back from Kassel and the weather was typical for this time of year (January)in Germany, overcast, poor visibility, and the temperature was about -4C. As we crossed the Donau it became sunny, calm, and there was a lot of snow. A couple of hot air balloons were hanging in the sky. So I suggested to my cousin that we stop by Schloss Neuschwanstein, since it was on our way anyway. As we got there I had all intentions to take a picture of Neuschwanstein. But by the time we found a parking spot, the temperature was dropping, and as a result it became foggy. By the time we got out of the car Neuschwanstein wasn't visible anymore, so I turned my camera into the sun and took this foggy sunset towards Alpsee. The picture was taken in January 2006. Thank you for your kind comments to my last upload.

You can almost feel the freezing temperature here Sig, I love this foggy sky, I'm always trying to learn from the more experienced like yourself, I'll be looking out for shots like this myself. Its a great atmospheric photo for this time of year. Nice to catch the couple far right holding hands.

Da kann man mal wieder sehen... ich wüsste nicht das wir hier (an der Nordsee) letzten Winter überhaupt Schnee hatten. Das ist nicht gerecht... Sehr schönes Bild!! Neuschwansteine fotografiert doch jeder.. ;-)

Coming to Germany to show us the winter, Sig... Yeah, we had snow in Berlin in the last winter, too.... it lasted 2 hours, and that it was all, for the whole season....LOL. The young freshmen do not know, what winter is... Wunderful catch of this winter scene, all is well done. The POV is right, the lanterns are beautiful and give a good contrast, you had a great eye. And congrats for your selection in the weekly galery here.
