Description
Mallets great mortar no.2. One of two mortars built by Robert Mallet to bombard Sebastapol. Now outside the Royal Armouries Museum of Artillery Fort Nelson, on Portsdown Hill near Fareham Hampshire U.K. The no.1 mortar fired a 2,400lb shell, 35.6inch diameter, a distance of 1.5 miles!
