I've been experimenting with photoreal effects for a while now, with varying degrees of success. Then I found face_off's skin realism and occusion master scripts, and it's transformed the way I work. The character above is one of mine (imperfect beauty is another strand in the quest for realism) based on Steph 3. I ran the skin realism kit over her to get the texture ready for a close-up, then ran occlusion master over a set of standard lights. I'm very pleased by the end results, and amazed by the ease of use. No messing around creating a new texture. No manually creating shader nodes for each zone...
