Description

Derwent River composite This is a shot of the same bridge that appears in Lake District Photos (#1) but from the other side of it - and, of course, a different day. There had been a lot of rain overnight and the water was flowing deep and fast. This shot looked reasonably interesting so I had a go. The flash went off and I got a lovely detailed shot of the branches but the rest was in darkness. Fortunately, as I was using a tripod at the time, I was able to disable the flash and re-take the shot which came out much as you see here. The branches were, however, now in silhouette only. Just out of interest, I tried combining the two shots in PhotoShop and came up with this composite. Hope you like it. :-) -------------------------------- Original Photographs: 3-Feb-2004

I think it is a really nice shot, and has the look of a painting.

Sometimes you just have to help the camera see what the eye can see. Very nice.
