Description
One day, on our November jaunt to the Lakes, we took a trip over the Pennines to Newcastle in the hopes of visiting some of the castles there. Sadly, they were all closed but we still made a day of it - we could see the outsides of them. :-D
On the way back, however, as we were coming back down the Western stretch of the Pennine Way, we crossed this rather grand bridge.
It seemed a little out of place on such a minor road as this but, nonetheless, was rather photogenic albeit a little difficult to get a good angle on.
I've no idea what the river is called, if the bridge has a name or even exactly where it was but here it is anyway. :-)
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Excellent pov. great structure of these wonderful three arches. I love this stone jutting out in foreground, it looks like it has been worn away with a flow of drainage water from the road. great shot.

Yeah, we'll have to go back and visit those castles properly some day Kev. I love the way this takes the eye over the bridge and around the bend with the chevrons in the distance.
