BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone, musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

Bobby, I am not often in these galleries but I really like this one.

The large cacti don't seem to have any texture (just one shade of brown), they are badly scaled (too big), and they don't appear to cast shadows. Shame, because the landscape they sit upon is very good.

@ Phylloxera...the added flora were in fact the point of this collaberation.. @ WeeLaddie...indeed the cactii see textureless and cast no shadows...dunno why that is as that cactus actually is very nicely textured in every other scene I've tested it in and indeed casts shadows...also the desert weeds don't seem to be casting shadows...any ideas from the TG2 pros out there why...the pincushion cactus seems to have more than it's share of shadows and the treein is also casting them well... Critiques are good and are in a large part why I post but they're useless/pointless without tips for improvement. This collaberation was done at Maori's request on 'his' .tgd as he hasn't had any luck with populations and thought it might be a fun idea to get me on it as he likes what I do with them, and in fact likes image this or I would not have posted it.. ...
