BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone, musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

Much better Bobby. I'm sure you shouldn't have to resort to inserting them as individual objects. You may wish to check out the four points that Schmeerlap indicated in Planetside Forum, particularly point d), as shadows were being cast by other objects. If a pop has not got the "Sit On Terrain" checked they may be hanging in the air and casting shadows elsewhere rather like clouds. I imagine the improvement in Cacti texture may have something to do with sun placement.

I have never had a floating pop problem and this isn't either. I did do the pop correctly and it's something in the object I fear. The cacti improvement is due to the fact I had a tiny bit of luminence [0.03] on the plants parts for some reason and it was wiping out the displacement much like brightness does in my modeling app to bumps. Like I said I've done endless grass and tree scenes and tests and this is a first for me...check my gallery and you'll see it's not something that has been a problem. My real problem is colourblindness and I'm developing methods for dealing with that when attempting naturalist scenes.

Beautiful work, Mario and Bobby!

Great job Bobby. Saguaros are all over the place here. I cannot help but feel you need to multiply your Saguaros so they cover the valley floor. Also some Palo Verde plants are needed as well as some Cholla cactus. Some Greasewood, Sage, and Jojoba plants would be appropriate also. Mesquite trees and catclaw bushes as well.
