Description
Inastacio "El Yogi" is a day laborer in City of Orange, I asked him why they called him Yogi and he replied that his youngest daughter called him that, "like the bear in the cartoons". He said she was a happy accident because he was already a grandpa when his wife got pregnant again. That was the only reason he crossed the border again, he had sworn to never do it again since the death of one of his cousins in the last trek. The rains in his hometown rendered everybody jobless for the season so he came back with the phone number of a previous employer. The day I met him he had just came back from Santiago Canyon where he was taken to stack sandbags. He looked sad so I asked him why, he said he saw a little girl at the big house where he was working but when he smiled at her, her grandma got "kind of scared" and took her inside. I wanted to tell them that she reminded me of my daughter but my English is not good enough besides I made them nervous.
I am posting this photo mainly for the story, his expression reminded me of the many tales a city may have and how sometimes we just need to stop and talk to people.

See those lines at the corner of his eyes? Those are how to judge a person's personality... Yogi is a very happy, humourous, caring person. The lines have been etched into his face with every smile. The lines on his brow from his deeply caring about others. The creases on either side of the mouth show general happiness. I see all this because your portrait is exceptional! I do look forward to your portraits ... :-)
