Description

Abandoned. This is simply an old house I saw in an older part of my small town. Near by while leaving, I had a nice conversation with an old man who lives in the neighborhood, walking his dog. He was happy, pleased with the weather and glad to have a bit of conversation. I did not ask him about the house and if children once ran from the porch to play in the yard.

These type pictures are a favorite of mine. One wonders what kind of story they could tell it they could talk. Nice capture. :)

Indeed, a lovely find. This must have been most remarkable to stumble upon in your walk outside. Just the thought of this beautiful home being abandoned leaves an uncanny resonance of sorts. Excellent lighting to capture the mood of this! Happy New Year and may it bring you blessings of peace and love!

Looks like a great house, Tom. I wonder why it was abandoned, and what stories it could tell.

I can't imagine leaving a fabulous place like this unless I was forced to do so by the Grim Reaper. Your pov really has an intimate feel to it.

Nice subject. Looks like something I would model in a 3D application. Very artistic eye! A house like that here in So. California would likely fetch $500,000. Yup, a fixer upper around these parts.

This is abandoned but very beautiful. The environment is very pleasant; perhaps the house aznd the old man are keeping company for each other. Beautiful light in this pict.

Your photos tell a story. I love them. Old houses and railroad tracks...some of my favorites. I love to daydream about places like this. Sad and beautiful at once. A remnant of days gone by.

Thank you so much for sending me here, this is a wonderful photo and what a beautiful home it still is...I lived in a farm house much like this as a child...sweet memories...so sad to me that such beauty is replaced by cold grey stone or steel...no character to that like there is to this...one can almost see children running and playing in the yard. Thanks also for the tip with the clone tool, I have used that on images but didn't think to use it on a photo...5+++++ on this!!!

It took a while for me to get to this, but I'm glad I finally made it around to this particular neck of the woods. This is one of the most beautiful and haunting images I've seen in an incredibly long time. There is a wealth of emotion in this single image; just a quick shot of something that's been there for a long, long time. The light, the colors, the impression that everything is washed out and shifting, ever so slowly to gray, is stunning in its plaintive beauty. There are stories in this house and they may never be told. I like to think that children lived here, and that a man and wife loved each other, and possibly even made the children who lived there under that very roof. It's incredibly human, and wonderfully heart-wrenching on so many levels. This is a fantastic piece of photographic art and a wonderful capture of time itself.

It seems "beautiful", peaceful, tragical and scary at the same time. Congrats for this nice shot.
