Description

Ultrafractal 4.03 "...four thousand holes in Blackbourne, Lancashire...now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall...I'd love to turn you on..." (Lennon/McCartney) First off - a happy and fulfilling New Year to everyone! As often happens, I'm a day late - and usually a dollar or more short - lol. I wanted to up this yesterday but wasn't happy with it and got into a big round of tweaking - with the usual large amount of time trying to remember which of a jillion layers was the shadow for this or that certain shape - and so, it's now a "day after New Year" piece. :-) I tried for a festive vibe and also to sorta duplicate somewhat a doodle I used to draw a lot when I was a kid with layers of holed membranes. And then I remembered the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" animated flic and tried for the vibe of the "Through the Sea of Holes" segment as well. (see this Utube clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NuIL9LJars ) This one uses mostly Lale's(?) "Follies 2" formula in lal.ufm along with Toby's "Painter's Traps" coloring in tma.ucl for the shapes. The holes are made with Damien's "Lambda(Julia)" formula in the standard folder and Mark Townsend's "fbm Popcorn Traps" coloring in mt.ucl. Thanks for stopping by and here's to a wonder-filled 2008! Rick

You really haven't cracked it! The secret was to jump a plane on the 1st and to instruct the pilot to go west until told otherwise. The theory is you could have kept time at bay. Anyway, another nice picture with that "Rykk" feeling to it. We are promised another freeze-up for tomorrow, and the cold is already well below my comfort zone. Still, the kids will enjoy thumping snowballs around, and sliding uncontrollably down the slopes. Me, I treasure my nose. Anyway, I wish you all the best for 2008 - a Leap Year, no less. Should people be paid overtime on the 29th February? (just a thought, for the salaried types undoubtedly lose out on pay)

OK, so age does things to the eyes. When I glanced at your title I thought it said "Sea of Soles" which made perfect sense to my eye. Lovely gripper bottoms they would be. Happy New Year! and may the holes in the sea be filled with health, happiness and prosperity. As usual, a wonderful image, Rick. Has that party on feel to it. Love, Mad
