TMFV Page 023.
A tip of the hat to the great SciFi director, Jack Arnold. Referenced "Tarantula"
Actually there's a lot more detail in these scenes than the drawn look filter process shows.
The train and depot are full meshes suitable for sale. Maybe I'll make them available.
I made everything on the page except for the Poser 5 character, Tommy.
Apps used:
Quidam, to make Tommy's mother.
Silo, to make the train set.
3ds Max, the rooms, diarama, depot and furniture.
ZBrush, the spider (Learned from a great Kurv Studio free VTM. Google it!)
Vue, lighting and render engine.
Xara Pro, for adjusting the images before putting them into Photoshop. (Xara Pro is cool!)
Photoshop, Layer upon layer of filter work. (The Redfield filter is super, I use it, but its not enough, need more layered filters to produce the look I am after.)
Comic Book Creator for the page assembly and voice ballons.

There is always so much detai and as already mentioned creativity in your work, I enjoy it so much. As you stated above I do hope you consider putting the train and other assorted items up for sale.

Just brilliant! To trick us into believing there is a giant spider, and then cut to a wide angle of a room and model train set. Superb! Yeah, it's done to death in the movies, but if it works, then what the hell! The entire setup for this page and previous is top notch, your modeling skills grow with each render you submit. Yeah, I'm jealous. Made one model in my time & vowed never to do it again..Ohh the stress! Good work my friend! Regards Kev

aaahhh, radiation... the genetic manipulation of the 50's, gave us giant spiders (will this happen to Lou? stay tuned for more), giant people (collasal Man) and giant lizards (Godzilla!). Now we're cookin' (microwaves?). soon things will change for our group...... can't wait to see!

Oh yes, the surprise with the spider and the model was perfect and a very good idea - A homage to "Tarantuala" The face of the woman in frame two looks a little strange (nose). but the train and the railway station is damn good modelling work.

Hey... Thanks for calling by. Glad you liked the models. Theyre a little memory intensive if yours making animations with realistic shadows but the output is mindblowing. The header of my forum at iclonetutorials.com has some fun output but now even iClone 2.5 has surpassed this in 7 months. The style and work above is something Ive looked at and the impressive thing is, it does have a pleasant 1950's theme feel about it. Relatively new to this and only able to do it because iof IClones ease of use I thought Id have a go with the SiouxieSioux.com digital comic, but it isnt as easy as it looks and Ive probably found al the pitfals everyone else sidesteps. :o) That aside, I enjoy seeing these examples. Currently Im looking for people to post examples of alternate design at the forum but we'll see how the next phase comes along. Best wishes. Armstrong.

you got me on this one... I saw the spider and thought of the classics, I thought, here we go giant spiders... Way to hook in the reader and slap them with reality - "WON" of your best!!!

This is just outstanding work ... I love scene with the "giant" spider and the subsequent pan out to the model railroad. Really excellent modeling, renders, and story! But isn't it a bit unbelievable that anyone can dislike spiders? LOL

Great addition to the series. The visual pun with the spider worked well here, and even though I know what you mean about a loss of detail, for this series it works. That said you may want to post the original render as a "b-side" or something.

I admit you also got me with the second panel after Tommy's mom mentioned the radiation, I also thought of those of sci fi films. Also I give you credit for making him mom a little overweight sometimes when people do stories like this they forget through in variety in body types.
