BFT # 1 (beginning) Table of Contents BFT #5: By the Gods So ye see friend, it be a mighty insult to be calling one of the Races a mere creature or beast. I 'magine that now ye have read the parchment, ye have a better understanding of that. Thank ye, friend - another mead would be marvelous. Sallion, another round for me and my fine friend here. Yes, yes Sallion, the stranger be paying for it, not me. Ooo, you can be a rude one sometimes. Ehh Sallion, de ye mind if ye place the mug on the far end of the table. Aye like that. My my, ye do look fetching leaned over the table like that. Don’t ye give me that look, now off with ye, I got stories to tell the stranger here. She’s troted off to the bar, so I can talk plainly to ye. Aye she be a lovely one, that be fer sure. I see yer eye’s following her. Not that I blame ye, mind you. She me pleasing on the eyes, be ye a male or the fairer sex… but I must warn ye that she has a bit of a ‘eputation… even more than most of the wenches of Gilmore. And that friend, is saying a lot. She is a bit of a lusty one, our Sallion, like as not to have a new man each night. Sometimes a woman if the mood strikes her so. So if ye have designs on her, that be fine. Jest don’t think twill end up being sumpin serious though. Not with Sallion. Oh if ye say so friend, yes, yes, yes… but I have seen that look ‘fore. And I personally know the effect her eyes have on others. Almost like she was a Fae not an elf, if ye know what I mean. I wouln’t be s’prized if that fair lass be praying to Canola, Kala… mayhap even Quont, the way she is in the bed chambers. ‘Nstead of praying to Sola, like ‘n Elf ought to. What? Did I hear ye right friend? Can’t be. Did ye really ask who be Canola, Kala, Quont and Sola? Bloody Tumba Guts!! ‘Scuse the Kezian ‘spression, but I cannot believe me ears. Are ye saying ye do not know who The Mothers and the Fathers are? The what, ye ask?? Friend this be a jest, yes? Tis no one on all of Mernac who not know our 20 Gods… the Mothers and the Father we call them, don’t ye know. Ye be testing me some way, methinks. We may have never met, but ye mannerisms and the way ye are acting ‘minds me of someone, just not sure who. The memory is not was it was lately. Thank the Mothers I have me scrolls and parchments to rely one, seems I am losing more thoughts with each passing day. But as I said, there be something familiar bout you. I ‘spect one of me old comrades filled you in and told ye to pretend not to know much ‘bout anything. Is that it friend? No? The Rest of the Story
