Description

A couple of months ago, my youngest auditioned for the 5th grade drama club. While he was searching for something to recite, I suggested that he try the poem "Jabberwocky", from "Through The Looking Glass", by Lewis Carroll. Despite the fact that it's a difficult piece for an adult, let alone a ten year old, he did an absolutely amazing job of learning it, and even now after all the time that's passed, he can recite it perfectly. So...this is a picture of that notorious beast with "eyes of flame", done up special for my little thespian, and now hanging in my gallery for your approval.

Wheres a Vorpal balde when you really need one? Excellent mood and atmosphere! He has a vest on? Makes him look so dapper!

Absolutely approved!! Seeing your render before reading your comments, I thought "Hey – that looks like Jabberwocky"! Sure enough; it is! That is very impressive as your child memorized and still can recite the piece! What I would give to harness some of that goodness! I also compliment your suggestion / challenge to your little one! Outstanding job on the foliage and pose of each character!!!

I'd often wondered how he looked to others. Congrats to Himself on the performance. What a lovely way to commemorate it.

Very interesting rendering for your special young thespian. Hope he has enjoyed this tribute as much as I...and the thespian experience which hopefully delighted him. That is one of the early special memories you have honored with your rendering. Very nice.

Yes, nice. When I was but a wee lad of ages 5-10, I learned and memorized arts & things so much more easily than ever later in life, including piano pieces, nursery rhymes, children's stories (Goldilocks & 3 Bears), etc. etc. Childrens' minds are miraculous. Too bad we lose those gifts as we age. As a former amateur thesbian, I don't remember any lines from any of the dozen or so plays or musicals I memorized and performed over the course of 15 years of adulthood. Pity, that. Yet, still... " 'twas Brillig and the slithy toves..." that's easy!
