Description

This is an orchid from my greenhouse. I've had this plant for years; it's gotten so big it grew thru the pot and is rooted in the soil now. There are at least 20 more spikes ready to bloom and they last for weeks. The vase was waiting for me when I got home from my trip last weekend; it's late Christmas/Birthday gift from one of my best friends.

A lovely Orchid, sounds like it will keep the place bright and cheerful for some time. You must have looked after it well.

OHH!!! Hov lovely they are.. You must have green fingers, as we say in Denmark. I wouldnt even dare having such one. I am sure I would kill it, before a week was gone. Well done :)))

Beautiful flower and a very nice vase, I always think of the Orchid as a sensual flower. I think you have caught the esscence of it here! Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

I love orchids but I really have no luck with them. I gave the last one I had to my sister she is the one with the green thumb. Very beautiful orchid you have grown there.

A wonderful Photo. The Flowers in vases, in my ambit normally die of thirst or drown... my green thumb, as we say here in germany, is more... black ore brown...

Excellent picture. I have heard of people who pass certain plants from generation to generation as family heirlooms. I guess you could! I personally have trouble getting weeds to grow in my yard!... :) Brown thumb and all! Todd

I wish my friends thought to give me such marvelous gifts! I usually get gift cards but I'd much prefer a lovely vase like this one. Great orchids too...I killed mine last year. I'm not much of an orchid grower I guess...

Stunning, absolutely stunning, in this brilliant display of the elegant orchid plant, featuring its lovely textured blooms, along with the ancillary green petals and wine colored pot, Marilyn!

Great plant shot! ROFL! You plant people amaze me! I can never tell whether you're complaining or bragging! It's like a truck driver who says he's tired, cause he got 4,000 paid miles last week. Just pullin' on your chain, Marilyn! I love your photos!
