Description

The "Spearhead Buttress" is the obvious large block at the top of the picture. It doesn't look much from here but believe me, I let out a gasp when it popped into view as I crossed the Cruach nam miseag ridge. My way to the top zig-zagged up through the crags you can see, and then straight up the gully on the righthand side of the Buttress. It had taken me almost two and a half hours climbing up to get to this point and I knew that I was paying the price for Xmas and New year! Anyway there was very little time for hanging about taking photos. Low pressure was rushing up from the south, bringing with it a carpet of low cloud and a sharp rise in temperature. I was in a race to get up past the Spearhead Buttress before the sunshine and rising temperature started to thaw everything out . (I didn't fancy being below these cliffs when huge slabs of ice and snow were thumping down all around). I'll post a shot of the view from the top of the Buttress looking back to this point next. Thanks for viewing.

That figure kind of gives it scale. What an excellent series. I love it. Thanks for sharing this, Sig...
