I was born in the flat lands of Kansas in a family of nine. My love of images started when I was 11 in the mid60s and my mom brought home a box full of Life and Look mags. Being the middle child, withdrawn and depressed. I took these images, cut them up made collages to express myself. My Art form begain and so too my love of Photography. I still make Collages from found objects. But once I got my computer I turned to 3D Art. Then replace my old SLR with a digital and here I am. I now live on a small Island in the Puget Sounds. With my husband and two cats and a menagerie of wild life.

Wow, I had a wringer washer for years, came from my grandmother, it must've been at least 50 years old when I got it. It washed every single one of my son's diapers until it finally just died. This is a great shot, lots of nostalgia!!

I remember before my mother was able to get a Maytag wringer, she was doing the laundry on a rub board.of course our drying apparatus was very efficient, in fact solar powered. thanks for sharing these

I swear! I used to wring the clothes for mother on that machine to the far right. I begged for that job! I love this shot with the great colors and lineup of nifty new appliances. I do believe these might be a tiny bit newer than the washer I currently have. And would you believe that it was only 10 years ago I was still using a washboard if the kids weren't handy? Yup, I used to put the kids in bathing suits, fill the tub with laundry soap, hot water and dirty clothes and set those kids on them like they were grapes being made into wine! When they finished stomping the dirt out of the clothes, I pulled the bathtub drain plug, turned on the cool water and had them finish stomping the soap out. :-) Dang those kids came in handly.

Oh my goodness, I remember these! Way back when in the years when money was tight, I used to go across the street to my neighbor's house, and we used to do our laundry together in her old wringer washer! We used to help each other out with stuff. Sigh those were the good old days! What an excellent shot this is!
