Description

Our shooting schedule was a bit hectic. Pierre-Marc, my co-star was leaving Prague on the night of our final shoot together. We met in the afternoon, went to Marie's apartment for the shoot itself, and launched immediately into it after a couple of beers, an improvised meal of various breads and spreads, cigarettes, and more beer. Our pivotal scene took only 6 takes, and didn't involve running up the steps to a train platform at Hlavni Nadrazi, as the previous night's scene required. I was able to breathe a sigh of relief at this, especially since the national police were out in full force at the train station. No one stopped or hassled us, which was lucky, but oh...we did get some strange looks and a few sniggering whispers. When Pierre-Marc left Prague, I accompanied him to the train station, and we both fell into a rather oddly pensive mood, as our own good-byes were physically similar to the scene we'd shot the night before. --Him looking at the departure board with a HUGE backpack, and me, beside him, looking somewhat dejected. It's alway sad when friend's depart, after all, and as it came time for his train to leave, we enjoyed a final beer together, with a local guy named Petr. It was during our drinking that I proposed a toast to Pierre-Marc and said: "Wherever I am, you are welcome." I hope he took it to heart. I raised the same toast to Petr as well, and he invited me to hang out with him and his friends later...hopefully I get to see him next week. THIS image is what I saw, while swimming through a complicated brew of moods--some longing and wistful, others giddy and somewhat buzzed, not from beer, but from the past 4 nights...but I suspect that some of the events of the previous nights are best left unwritten, especially since one of them involves the question: "Wait...WHO did I kiss?" As always, thank you for viewing, and I hope to catch up of commenting as soon as time allows. I'm stealing time now to do this, as I'm also at work on stuff for the hostel. Hopefully everyone is having a great week/end.

City sights and city lights and your mood, all truly amazing, as usual. Love that question, as well, wondering just how much fun did we have???!!!!

Lovely shot, even if your mood may not have been quite so lovely. It sounds like you're having a wonderful time, there. I hope you enjoyed that mystery-kiss!

Chip, I really like the combination of image and text you give us..the scene is made and still leave plenty of room for the imagination. A piece of life you describe, whether in Prague or elsewhere. Best wishes to you and thanks for this photo and the words. I had no idea you are now an actor or whatever you were doing. Tom.

Oh, this is just beautiful. My night shots never come out quite right, but this came out amazingly glowy and almost festive. I admire the people who can pick up a camera and capture those moments in life that many of us look through and never really take notice of.
