Description

This building is called "Belvedere", and it was the teahouse of the Kings of Preussen, who lived here in Berlin for nearly three centuries. The house was constructed in 1788 by Carl Gotthard Langhans, the same architect who is known as the constructor of the famous "Brandenburger Tor", the center of Berlin. When the house was finished, it was called "Belvedere". It is part of the Castle Charlottenburg and is situated in the castles`s park. Today it is a porcelain museum and shows the Preussian kings fine porcelaine and the presents they became from their guests. So you can see here porcelaine treasures of Napoleon Bonaparte. The kings of Preussen had their own porcelaine manufactury. The "Koeniglich Preussische Porzellan - Manufaktur (KPM) exists till today and works on a very high artistical level. Their products are welcome presents for official guests of the German state as George W. Bush, Wladimir Putin and all the others of the "big fishes" in our pond. Photo was taken at 15. December 2007, when the sun was shinig a little bit. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for your comments for the older pics of mine. Greetings from B. billy boy
