Description

This is the area where the woman would sit when the wall panels that are suspended from ceiling are dropped. The separation isn't due to discrimination but due to different issues woman have than men. Also during "worship" the young children and nursing mother's would be on this side. Back in the day there were many more "friends of worship" than today. The panels would come down when it was time for study. All the boards are original and there aren't any nails for the majority of the building. Next time I will attempt to get a clear shot of the wooden plugs that are in the benches and floor and wall boards.

I don't understand.. They drop wooden panels from the ceiling on top of the women sitting there? Seems a bit harsh...lol. Ok.. very cool bit of history caught on film (or silicon actually). Are we to understand this place is no longer in use? In any event, very neat display of old time craftmanship and americana. Bravo and hugs from Dave :^)

bet there is rich texture in the wood. look at the size of the floor broads, They are wide compare to today floor broads. I like to look at these photos of yours and see the diff and the sameness of today churchs. The seats is made about the pattern as a lot of churches today. some diff look to it but the same. very good lighting in it
