Description
Another one of my hobbies is rock polishing, this is a pic of three types of rock, the light coloured one is a quartz, the green is a Malachite I believe, the black I do not know. I had wanted a rock polishing machine for maybe thirty years or so, my daughter Emma bought me one for Christmas 2006 but I haven't done much with it for the last six months or so. I will have to get back to it soon. These are by no means perfect and the black one really needs to go back in the polisher has there are quite a few areas that still need polishing. I have quite a few images that I might upload in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make, good or bad I don't mind.
May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.

I LOVE these kinds of stones, it always amazes me the beauty that comes from what seems to be a crusty, dirty old rock!! Beautiful, Jeff!!

Great clear shot of theses beauties Jeff, I remember we saw some tiny semi-precious stones for sale the day you took me to the Heights of Abraham at Matlock Bath. What size are these here ? they look quite big but could be a close-up of smaller rocks! Is the black one Whitby Jet ?

I got the green one wrong, it's actually called blood stone, still not sure about the black but it might be Hematite.

There's just something very interesting about the many kinds of rocks... We have river gravel on our driveway... lots of exploring during my walks. Thanks for sharing your hobby with us, we look forward to more!

Excellent shot! Very clear and clean. I have a polisher and used it for many ears. Unfortunately the grits needed to finish up the stones got expensive and not very easy for me to find.

if there was rocks around here I have that machine on all the time and I would even cut them into little wavers and make a wall of them in my house so the sun can come thought and show the wonders of them. this is super to look at polish rocks

Wonderful! I love rocks. I think there are rocks in every room of my house. I was thinking the black one was hematite, but it's hard to tell from a photo. Hematite looks very shiny, like mercury. These are beautiful!
